Loved our 3-night stay here. Location was perfect for us: 15 min walk to main downtown areas and we felt safe walking as a couple at night. It's in a quiet neighborhood. Clean place, enough space to spend the day out and the night in. Internet worked well our entire stay. Staff were helpful arranging arrivals and taxis for departure. One staff member was mostly fluent in English. Could have used more instruction on the breakfast situation (for us, it was 8-10am, arrive in dining room, and say yay or nay to the option of the day from the kitchen staff, or select from staples like sweetbread). Fan in room made for a comfortable temperature during our February stay.
Casa Lidia was perfect for my friend and I. It's located in a charming and quiet barrio, a 15-minute walk from Oaxaca's main cathedral and Zocalo, in the crowded Centro Historico, and much quieter and without the bustle, as a result. The hotel is pretty, with a small inner courtyard, the double rooms spacious. And, with a tasty breakfast included, it was very well-priced. I especially want to call out the owners, Toño and Flora, one of whom was always at the desk, and who were unstintingly helpful and generous with advice and accommodation.
I am not for frills or loud hotels. A beautifully decorated environment, colorful and comfortable. Fresh air and quiet space to rest. Close to local restaurants and art galleries. A safe and stimulating walk to Santo Domingo square, museum and gardens. This was an oasis of excellent food and hospitality. The best value with a hearty breakfast!
We enjoyed our stay here. The breakfasts were very good. The staff very helpful. It can be a little noisy because people talk in the courtyard area, and it echos. And, everyone slams their doors…they are big doors. But, the street was quiet and within walking distance to El Centro.
Located in a quiet area off the main road but easy access to the centre of town as a female solo (young senior) I felt very safe and welcomed. Both hosts Flor and Toño greeted, answered questions patiently. They spoke English and helped arrange tours taxi etc. Clean basic rooms refreshed daily were quiet, only heard air noise ( airplanes). Highly recommend staying here. Breakfast was always delicious, varied and made fresh daily per person. A bakery cafe bar just down the cobbled streets ( bring good footwear) and corner shop nearby. A vegan cat cafe nearby too was a great find. Good internet access at casa.
Clean. Quaint. Professional and hospitable staff. Quiet neighborhood steps away from Jalatlaco & Centro square. The fan inside the room was a lifesaver.
